Can the Total Phase cheetah.dll be used in place of the aardvark.dll for SPI communications?

I'm using the Instrument Control Toolbox for a variety of hardware testing in my lab.
I would like to use the (newer and faster) Cheetah SPI adapter instead of the Aardvark SPI adapter (both from Total Phase, Inc). Is it possible to simply replace the .dll files, or possibly just rename the cheetah.dll file to aardvark.dll, to accommodate this?
The Instrument Control Toolbox documentation mentions the Aardvark SPI adapter specifically, but doesn't mention the newer Cheetah SPI adapter.
Thanks!

The DLL with the API to the cheetah adapter does not provide the same entry points, or function signatures. Replacing the DLL will probably not work, and may cause MATLAB to crash.
Could you contact technical support and request support for the Cheetah SPI adapter in Instrument Control Toolbox?
