What exact CPU do you have (Manufacturer and model name)? In the case you don't know run this in MATLAB (hopefully that still works on Win8):

Yes thats what I meant. Your CPU supported SSE2 and AVX so it should be fine with using MKL library. For now it seems like a MKL incompatibility with your CPU type. I suggest contacting MathWorks Technical Support.
