Hi, I'm interested in using the aurf command to create 3-D surface overlaid onto a cylinder. What I'm trying to do is show the forces on a cylinder that are coming from different directions. I have created the cylinder using the cylinder command, then created an array that when plotted using surf function, shows the force at each node. I just need to combine the two together but don't know how. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you.

What do you mean? Is the hold command all you need?
[x,y,z]=cylinder;
cylinder;
hold on;
surf(x/2,y/2,z*2);
