I am working on image processing projects I need a code for comparing a 500 images at time

please help me in finding a code for comparing 500 images with 1 image I should compare using wavelet concepts

Sure. Just figure out what category the image you're working on belongs into and then store it. What do you want to store? The filename? The image number? What exactly is the result? You could use a structure array to store multiple things.

5 different categories? I wonder if that is intended to be 5 different feature vectors ?

Each image should have a feature vector, for example hair color, height, amount of wrinkles, etc.. Maybe each picture has 15 features that are the various measurements that are made. Then you can, for example, classify each picture of a person into 5 categories: child, teenager, young person, middle-aged, and senior citizen.
