Apply hatched patterns to a NxM image . PROBLEM!!

Hello,

I'm trying to apply hatched pattern to an image and I'm having a lot of problems with the functions I have found. The problem is that most functions creates a new figure from the figure H, or H can alternatively be a uint8 NxMx3 matrix. The problem is that I have only an image NxM (For example, my image can be all black with a masc which value is 12). What I need is to fill this object with a pattern and an specific color.
