Specifying Constraints for Chromosome in Genetic Algorithm

Hi. How would i be able to specify constraints for the chromosome in an optimization problem using the GA Tool?

My problem is that, i have to optimize applications to run at certain periods of the day while some applications have constraints whilst others don't. I have already formulated these and now need to feed this info into the Chromosome in the GA Toolbox for it to optimize the problem.

Any help, direction or advised reading materials in this matter is greatly appreciated!
