This paper is based on obtaining flash/no-flash image pairs that can be used to reduce the noise in the no-flash image. The basic idea is based on bi-lateral filter. Since the flash/no-flash image pair is assumed to capture exactly the same points in the scene, the flash image (with little noise) is used to provide the range weight of the bi-lateral filter and the no-flash image is used for the space weight.
