Converting daily data to monthly mean data

This is a simple function that converts the daily data to monthly mean data.

This function helps in converting the daily datasets to monthly mean values. The additional benefit of the function is that, other than mean, it can also help in computing monthly maximum, monthly minimum, monthly standard deviation etc.
For example, for monthly minimum value, just replace"@mean" to "@min".
