Through this project, I learned how to use MATLAB to apply important concepts from Discrete Mathematics in a practical way.
I learned how to work with sets and subsets, and how logical operations such as AND, OR, and NOT can be implemented using MATLAB.
I also learned how to use conditional statements and loops to solve simple problems, such as checking whether a number is even or odd, and implementing algorithms like the Greatest Common Divisor (GCD).
Creating functions in MATLAB helped me organize the code and reuse it efficiently.
In addition, I learned how to represent relations and graphs using adjacency matrices, and how to calculate the degree of each vertex.
I also learned basic data visualization, such as plotting sequences and displaying color values using bar charts.
(b) How MATLAB Is Useful in Computer Science
MATLAB is a very useful tool in Computer Science because it allows students to visualize mathematical and logical concepts clearly.
It helps in understanding algorithms by executing them step by step, which makes their behavior easier to analyze.
Matrix operations in MATLAB are closely related to Graph Theory, where graphs and networks can be represented using matrices.
The color conversion part of the project (Hex to RGB) shows how number systems are used in computer graphics and digital design.
For these reasons, MATLAB is widely used by engineers and computer science students for algorithm design, data analysis, simulation, and visualization.
