AMIE - the Amazing Musical Inference Engine
AMIE listens to ambient sound and analyses it to see if a musical tone can be identified.
The sound for one second is taken in, an FFT is performed, and AMIE goes to work.
A concensus method identifies fundamentals with overtones (Harmonics).
Steve Lenk developed this method using his violin in front of AMIE.
Ex: AMIE can correctly identify violin G3, even with its weak 196 Hz content.
Concert pitch is 440 Hz. Pitch under 160 Hz is ignored.
Logo made using Performance Plus VP4P pitch pipe.
AMIE also plots the FFT contributions to the overall sound.
AMIE is a toy and is not for commercial purposes or use.
