Compute the Q of a bandpass filter given the bandwidth in octaves
When designing an audio bandpass filter, sometimes the desired bandwidth in octaves BWoct is specified, and the resulting Q (quality factor) needs to be calculated.
Syntax
Q = filtBW2Q(BWoct)
filtBW2Q()
The input value of BWoct may be either a scalar, a row vector, or a column vector. If a vector is provided, then the output will be the appropriate vector.
Invoking filtBW2Q() with no input arguments creates an example table of output results, which can be compared to the results that were published by Bohn (1983).
