Why don't I have an rc.lm.glnxa64 file in my 64 bit Linux MATLAB installation?

I have installed MATLAB on my 64 bit Linux machine and cannot configure the license manager boot script because the rc.lm.glnxa64 file is missing. No rc.lm.* files are created and placed in the $MATLAB/etc directory during installation. How am I able to configure the network license manager to startup at boot time without this file?

This bug has been fixed in Release 14 Service Pack 2 (R14SP2). For previous releases, download the rc.lm.glnxa64 boot script file attached to this solution.
