Matlab does not find compatible GCC

GCC 9.3, which should be compatible with matlab R2020b, is cleary installed on my system

Nevertheless, MEX can't seem to find it.

You installed gcc but not g++
sudo apt-get install g++

g++ was needed
sudo apt-get install g++
