Matlab Builder Ja: How to include externally defined functions (OOP)

Hi, I have a Matlab project with several classes and a lot of externally defined functions. If I try to create a Java package, there is an error saying that functionXY.m is not found. This is due to the fact that there is an "@"Symbol in the foldername to enable externally definded functions. If I remove the "@" Symbol, the building works, but when I try to use this java package, there is an error saying that functionXY.m can't be found on matlabs search path.
One solution would of course be to include the function-definition in the class definition. But since this would create huge class definitions I would like to avoid that. So.. do you know a workaround?
Thanks a lot
