reading .opus audio files

Hi all,

I have an .opus audio file I'm trying to load into MATLAB. I've tried

dataOpus = audioread('/path/to/file.opus');

but I get the error

Error using audioread (line 104)
The file type is not supported

Is there a way to load .opus files in MATLAB?

Hi,

As per my understanding, you are getting an error while reading .opus audio file. This is because audioread() function doesn't support .opus format yet. You can check the same here as well.

I have informed the developers regarding this enhancement, so that they may consider it while implementing the future release of MATLAB.

.opus files are now supported by audioread() and audiowrite() in MATLAB R2022a.
