What is the use of acclerator mode and normal mode of simulation ?

There are few simulation modes :
Noraml Acclerator Rapid Acclerator PIL SIL External
What are the difference between these modes used for simulation ?
I have generally used Normal mode , Why and When are the other modes of simulation used ?
dosen't the solvers serve the purpose of simulation mode change ?

Please read the Choose a Solver to understand how solvers affect simulation. The comparison between Normal, Accelerator and Rapid Accelerator modes is on this page. There is information about External Mode here, about SIL/PIL here.

just that the external mode and SIL/PIL links requires Licence to access .( which i dont have)
