Dear experts,
I have a basic problem regarding optimization. I am performing a calibration of a numerical model based on empirical data. I have 4 eigenvalues obtained in an experiment and I want to, approximately, obtain these values in my numerical model by altering, say, 3 parameters E,t,p (these must be individually constant for all 4 eigenvalues).
Since I only have experience with optimization of functions, I would like to hear if any of you can point me in the right direction by naming a method with which my problem can be solved. Then I can read up on this.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Kind regards, Martin.

I forgot to clarify that the optimization must be based on distinct results I obtain by altering the parameters, thus no straight-forward function optimization can be used - at least not from my perspective.
