There was a wonderful block called "CPM Phase Recovery" (reference) that implemented the 2P-Power method to recover the phase of CPM signal.
This block would be perfect for me as it uses a technique reported in the book of Mengali (a classical book in digital synchronism). For some reason, this block was removed (I don't know when, exactly). I tried to install Matlab2013a to use this block, but my system didn't have the old drives required to run this Simulink version.
Back to present (I'm using 2018a), the help context advises the use of the Carrier Synchronizer block in the place of this old one.
The question is, how to implement the 2P-Power method as it is done in "CPM Phase Recovery" block, using the "Carrier Synchronizer" block?
I think it is a rather tricky question as some basic knowledge is mandatory.
