I need to connect Specialized Power Electronics Asynchronous Machine (240W Induction Motor) to Revolute Joint which eventually spins a complex Simscape Multibody. But between induction motor and Multibody there is a Belt and Pulley assembly (say Pulley ratio - 1:2, Belt tension - 3.5 N). How to model this considering Belt tension and friction parameters? Is it possible to include rotor inertia parameter in the model? And how closely it can be modelled to match the physical system?

Hi Karthik,
You could use the belt pulley block combined with an ideal torque sensor and an ideal velocity source:
You can use the rotational mechanical port of the induction machine and a combination of blocks from the Simscape multibody library. Please see image below and model attached (19b).
Additionally, you could also use blocks written in Simscape language. Please find more information in the link below:
For more examples, you could see Steve Miller's Simscape Multibody Multiphysics Library:
Hope it helps!
Bruno.

Hi Karthik,
You can determine the inertia in the Parameters tab of the block mask. For more information about how the machine is modelled, please see the section "Mechanical Input" of the block documentation, where it is explained.
Regards,
Bruno.
