Hello Silpa,

For using your own equation to calculate an image quality metric, you may write a MATLAB script to calculate it according to the equation. It will also be better to include source and information about what the variables stand for. As for intermediate functions like sign, you can use built-in matlab functions. (For e.g. https://www.mathworks.com/help/symbolic/sign.html)
