How can I fill the area between two curves other than facecolors

I am trying to fill out the area between two curves with shades. Since the printing version of my graph will be black and white, and there are multiple areas to fill out, the shades should be something other than colors, e.g. dots, slant lines, etc. Is there a way that I can fill out the area with such shades in matlab?
