dos Output Buffer Restrictions

I am writing MATLAB code to run raytracing software from the command line. The result of using the 'dos' command outputs the results of the raytracer into a variable, but I do not believe it gives me all the results, i.e. I am missing output for 3 or 4 transmitters. Is there any known limit on the length of the output from the dos command?
