Bloomberg, same machine as Matlab? LAN?

should bloomberg be installed on the same machine as Matlab in order for the datafeed Toolbox to fetch bloomberg data into matlab? is there is a way to setup an IP address of a machine on the local network where bloomberg is running? Thanks.
