linking table column label with symbolic function

hello using an uploaded table is it possible to define the column labels as symbolic functions? Thereby enabling subsequent symbolic functions to be used for inserting additional columns. For example :column 1 = x, column 2 =y(f(x)) then column 3 would be diff(f(x)) or v. GS.
