Functions like mesh show only visible parts of a 3D figure, hiding parts around the corner. I have [x,y,z]-coordinates of a set of lines on a sphere. I can plot them with plot3, but how could I hide points around the corner? (I can do it afterwards in photoshop of course.) Second thing: these are lines upon a sphere, how could I make that sphere visible? As a gray circle or a gray sphere or something like that.

Please post a screenshot of the problem. What exactly does "parts around the corner" mean? Which sphere do you want to "make visible"? What about using the sphere command to draw a sphere?

There was a picture already, see above. It shows lines on a sphere. It has something to do with 'hidden' or maybe I should find a way to make a 'meshgrid' of my points.

I found a way to circumvent the problems and to make a good enough illustration for my article. Thanks all!
