Simulink forward compatibility question

I have a .mdl file which was created in simulink version 6.5. i saved it as in version 6.0 which was the oldest available version. The thing is I need to work on this file in an earlier version of matlab which has 5.0 vesion of simulink. It is not opening at all. Does anybody have any solutions.
this is the message it gave me

In my simulink 6.6 (R2007a), i am able to save the model in the version upto Simulink 4 (R12).
Have you looked in *Save as type* in *Save as* dialog box ?

Rahul: Perhaps you should get R2007a or an older version to find the SaveAs option for Simulink 5.0, like TAB suggested?

Simulink 5.0 is a 10 year old peace of software... Do you really need this old version? I suggest that you invest the time and effort to actually upgrade instead of downgrade. Technical Support can assist you with this and also with your project partners - in case the demand for an older version comes from your project partner, what I hear quite often.

The place i am working has given me a network license for this version. So upgrading is not an option. Do you know whether it is possible to downgrade?

I conclude with the technical suggestions from TAB and Kaustubha, see above.
One reason, I was mentioning upgrading is that I saw the place you are working in your profile. I would be surprised if this prestigous organization is not under software maintenance service.
I know of multiple difficulties of downgrading that are depending on functionality that has been added in newer versions. Then it is sometimes not possible to realize a model in an older version. As the conrete technical help depends on your actual model, I also recommend contacting Technical Support. By doing that, you automatically will find out anyway if your license is under maintenance.
