I've just installed 2018a and it is stuck at the splash screen. My previous versions of Matlab work as expected. I've re-installed and re-activated the installation and restarted my machine and that did not help.Suggestions?

Using Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit).

My JAVA_HOME is: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_141

I have a JAVA_HOME7 defined as: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_79

My Matlab_JAVA is: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_79\jre

I just realized that they are different. Not a problem for the previous versions of Matlab (e.g. 2016b). Is this a problem for 2018a?

My system is using:

1.8 1.8.0_161 <http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se> C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_161\bin\javaw.exe -Xms3072m true x86_64

I also have these versions of Java available:

1.8 1.8.0_111 <http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se> C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_111\bin\javaw.exe -Xms3072m true x86_64

1.6 1.6.0_45 <http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se> C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe -Xms3072m true x86_64

1.6 1.6.0_29 <http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se> C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.6.0_29\bin\javaw.exe -Xms3072m true x86
