Minimize and Maximize Figuers

 i have written a matlab programm which displays a Live Video Stream from IP-Cam on a Figure(fig1) to detect Motions, 
while fig1 is running, another Figure(fig2) shall be excuted and shown, my Problem is this : 
fig1 and fig2 are running but i can't control the fig2 because fig1 is always maximized, how can i minimize the fig1 to have control on fig2 ?
