How to do design optimization for HEV multimode reference application?

I have been referring to the video 'Five Cool Things You Can Do With Powertrain Blockset' and I had some troubles in the steps for design optimization(multi-mode HEV) for maximizing MPGe. Can someone help me with a detailed steps to do the optimization like where do I get the parameters, how to set them, how to set the signal to maximize MPGe and other stuff. Thank you
