Creating mex file for complicated fortran code

Good Day,
I'm starting a project that requires an interface between a complex fortran code (aerodyn) and a matlab code. I will need to write a gateway routine for the fortran code and I wanted to know if there are any suggestions/examples for this or if anyone has any experience with aerodyn and can offer some tips. Any help is much appreciated.
Chris

I am not familiar with aerodyn, but you might have a look at this FEX package for generic double variable interfacing between MATLAB and Fortran:
It makes generous use of pointers to avoid unnecessary data copying.
