How much value predict function returns ?

I trained a set of image and then pass only one image in a test and then pass it in predict function like:

predictedLabels1 = predict(classifier, test_feature);

But when i call it first time, predict returns only one level e.g: 0 or 1. but when i call it for 2nd image it returns two values: one is first one and another one is 2nd image level. when i call it for 3rd image it returns 3 value by including all the previous value. Now my question is that predict works as like my output or i did some wrong ? If wrong how can i solve it ?
