Lag upon upgrading computer.

I recently started using a new machine, upgrading from Windows 7 to 10 and an overall faster machine. My matlab code has transferred great, except for a lag that occurs when I use a specific function (many times, in a for-loop).

That function is to copy a figure. I have used both "uimenufcn(gcf,'EditCopyFigure')" (which has the needed functionality) and "print -dmeta", with similar lag occurring for each.

On my previous machine, the program might run slowly, but it would run in the background and hardly change my usage of other programs. On the new machine, my cursor lags on every call of the copy function.
