What is the transmission time constant in the Variable Ratio Transmission block of SimDriveline?

I am trying to model a CVT transmission using the Variable Ratio Transmission block of SimDriveline. However it is not clear to me what compliance values should be applied and how to calculate or estimate them. In the documentation it is stated that the base angular compliance kp can be estimated from the transmission time constant tc and inertia J through the formula kp = J(2π/tc)2.
Where does this "Transmission time constant tc" refer to?

The transmission time constant refers to the length of time it takes for the variable ratio transmission to reach steady state after a step change in torque or ratio in the transmission. Due to the compliance in the shafts and transmission mechanism, the ratio of (input speed/output speed) will not remain constant during a change to the mechanical conditions of the transmission. The time constant is a measure of how long it will take the transmission to settle to the new set of conditions.
