For solving Model equations and to implement control which one is better either Simulink or script file ?

Suppose to implement controllers like PID, MPC, Fuzzy Controllers.

I would recommend Simulink because: - model is more visual than script; therefore problem is easier to understand - easier to simulate nonlinear effects and different sample rates in Simulink

But is it possible to implement controller in script file for differential equations & I know how to do it for Laplace transforms but I want to do it for differential equations
