Are pixmaps available in Matlab?

Is it possible to create a pixmap in Matlab? A pixmap is essentially a memory structure that behaves like a screen, so you can create complex images and save them without having to actually display them on the screen and use getframe to capture them. Does Matlab have this capability? If it does, I am having a hard time finding it...
