We use Matlab and Simulink as part of a suite of tools and MATLAB is opened as an automation server by a another tool.
Some users experience some setup issues related to the license file not being found.
Is there a way for us to run MATLAB (or one of the license tools) from the command line and have it return a non-zero error code if the license server cannot be accessed?
This way we can create a post install check to ensure that they have MATLAB and the license settings working correctly.

You may need to ask Tech Support.

I understand that you are looking for a way to run MATLAB (or one of the license tools) from the command line and have it return a non zero error code if the license server cannot be accessed.
You can check the following documentation link.
Hope it helps.
