Send a char from .NET

Hi,
I have a function where the input is a 'char'. I have exported this function with the compiler and imported it on my .NET application. For the others functions where as an input i'm using a double i can use the following:
testClassMatlab cl = null;
MWNumericArray input = null;
MWNumericArray output = null;
MWNumericArray output1 = null;
MWArray[] result = null;
// Initialise our new matlab object
cl = new testClassMatlab();
input = 6;
// Make the call to the method we exported
result = cl.makesquare(2, input );

It is working fine. But with a char -> string i have tried the following but without success:
MWCharArray input = null;
input = "p";
result = cl.MtbRM1(2,input);
It look like that the format of the input is not correct.
Any help?
