Jpeg text rendering when saving.

I have a figure that gets saved as a JPEG format from within the program with the command:

print ('-djpeg100',[pn,'figure1.jpg']);

The saved image has got the axes labeling number running on top of each other quite unlike what I am seeing on the screen and obtain when I manually save the figure as a JPEG using File -> Save As. I would like to avoid having to do this work manually as it is time consuming and a real pain.

Try export_fig on the file exchange.
