How do you add multiple items to one 3d plot?

I have 3 geometries: a sphere, a patchfv, and a plot3 (ellipse) that I'd like to assemble in a single 3d figure. How do I accomplish this?

Create the first object. Then
hold on
and then add the additional objects. After that
hold off
