Refresh GUI content without opening new GUI window

Matlab has a build-in app named as Neural Clustering. In this app, there is Next button on the bottom. When you click it, the whole GUI content refreshes (the same GUI window, not open a new one). May I know how to do such feature?

drawnow forces a flush of the event queue and will drive all of the updates to a figure that have happened (i.e. update to current state). Is this what you're looking for?
