Unable to set "external mode" on for STM32F4 Discovery in simulink 2015a

Hello,
I am trying to run example project "Code Verification and Validation with PIL and External Mode". For external mode, one has to set Interface as external and give arguments for Mex file.
But when I choose Target Hardware as STM32F4-Discovery, I can not see option "External" in drop down list. Please see the image below.

What settings I have to change so as to enable option "External"?
Thanks and Regards,
Abhijeet

Can you please clarify your question about when you are setting the external mode? With respect to this example, external mode refers to the external mode of simulation. So, you need to run the model in External Simulation mode by changing the simulation mode as per the following example and set the Board Parameters under "Coder Target" pane in Configuration Parameters.
At any point during the course of the External mode simulation, you can open the External Mode Control Panel by navigating to Code -> External Mode Control Panel in the model window.
