Visualize a ship on a 2d map

I need to develop a map with a ship sailing on it.

The map must contain the ship's turn, change of position, heading and tracking the past route.

I don't know where to start.

More like Matlab or are there useful blocks in Simulink?

You can utilise the Communications toolbox and Mapping toolbox to achieve these results.
