I am good at image processing but I don't know anything about video processing. I want to detect a particular object(say a car) when it comes into the view of my web camera. Which is the best method to do? There should be many methods to solve the same problem in computer vision toolbox but I want to know the best and accurate method to solve this problem.

Nearly every one of those published methods claims to be the best one so far, at least for the situations they were dealing with. The best one for you is the one that works for you.

The "best" way? Mark off the boundaries of your web-cam view in the real world (e.g., paint), and hire a team of on-sight people who push a button (or hold up a sign or something) each time a car enters in to the marked region. Have an odd number of people on duty at any one time so that you can do tie breaking on the boundary cases.
