Control other applications using MATLAB

Hi everyone, I wanted to know if it is possible to control another installed application on the computer using MATLAB. For example I am using CREO Paramateric which is a CAD software, is it possible for a MATLAB code to open this application, load a file, change a dimension and export the file without my interference.Thank you to anyone in advance

It depends. One relatively easy approach would be if the application you're trying to control has a COM interface you can use in MATLAB or if it provides an API in another language that you could call using the other external language interface functionalities.
