saveppt2 fails to generate ppt in Ubuntu

I use the saveppt2 code of MATLAB to consolidate my figure files to a single powerpoint when I work in the Windows OS. This fails when I run the code in Ubuntu operating system (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS). Ubuntu uses Libre Office instead of MS Office, which has a package called Libre impress (the counterpart of ppt in Ubuntu). I wish to consolidate my figure files in a ppt (or pdf) while I run my code in Ubuntu. Any solution?
