How do I specify range for my x axis using the plot function

y = cos(x);
plot( ??? ) if I want to run this code in the range of [−2π , 6π ]

Ran in:
x = linspace(0,2*pi);
y = cos(x);
plot(x,y)
xlim([-2*pi, 6*pi])
