How do you save multiple variable strings to multiple clipboards (macro pads)?

Macro pads can use multiple clipboards and can paste several different clipboards at once. The clipboard("copy",data) function can save a single string variable to a clipboard. Is there a way to create a function similar to the clipboard function but copies and pastes to different clipboards to a macropad key?
