To answer precisely to your question, it could be interesting to know first what you did in terms of Metrics Server configuration as explained in the documentation : Metrics configuration, and after that how your workstations preferences are configured, see Configure Polyspace preferences.

Yes, it applies to the current version of Polyspace/MATLAB, i.e. R2014a

I've had the exact same error message, caused by the server's firewall. You need to allow access to UDP port 12427.
