Matlab 2008b installed but won't launch on windows 7 laptop

I used to use Matlab 2008b on my windows 7 laptop and it run well. Recently I started to use a new windows 7 laptop with larger CPU and memory. Matlab 2008b was installed successfully on this new laptop, however, won't launch. My old and new laptops have 64-bit operating systems and the Matlab I'm using is 32-bit. For my own reason, I need to use this 32-bit 2008b Matlab instead of a 64-bit Matlab, or a later version of Matlab. Can you please tell me why can't I launch it on this new laptop? Is there a solution to this situation? Thank you so much.
