HDL coder example in Getting Started Guide

I've successfully worked through the Matlab example (starting at page 2-2) up to the point where the Fixed-Point Conversion task is run. This tasks outputs an error message:

"Invalid design location, design should be in the same directory as the project."

The function file, the test bench file, and the project file are all located in the same folder. What should I do to resolve this error message?

Is MATLAB's current working directory the same as the directory with the function file, the test bench file, and the project file?
